Ziegfried watched the injuries on his hand from the last fight quickly heal. Perched on the head of a stone statue deep inside the Tomb Kings’ base, he had always enjoyed watching his regeneration in action. This was yet another encounter where Ziegfried found himself bloodied and near death, repeatedly slamming his opponents until they inevitably succumbed. Nonetheless in a few more moments his body would be as good as new, almost as if the encounter had never happened.
Ziegfried turned his attention to the other Darkstalkers. They were all recovering in their own remedial ways. Heinrich was keeping his distance from the rest of the party, lest his pet phoenix accidentally ignite them. What a regrettably although hilarious end that would be. Ziegfried realized it had been a very long time since he had thought of his companion as the Gorgon. Although he was glad Heinrich had found his new look he experienced a fleeting moment of nostalgia for that horrible visage of Templehof’s great warden.
Heinrich still kept a few secrets, though. In the last battle his demonstrated some sort of ability to physically attack with his sword from a great distance. Ziegfried, always a quick study for anything flashy, deduced the secret lay in creating some sort of air compression to carry the impact of the blow. Discreetly mimicking the motions on top of the giant statue, it only took a few tries before Ziegfried dislodged a small piece of stone from the statue opposite his. The vampire bared a fanged grin in his delight.
